Tips to Keep your Hair Healthy

You are constantly told how to take care of your body, but how often are you told how to take care of your hair? Thankfully, your local beauty school in Chicago is here to help!

Wash your Hair Once a Week or Every Other Week

Washing your hair more than once a week will lead to a build-up of products, which could lead to dry hair.

Use Conditioner

Using conditioner can make a huge difference to your hair care routine! By using conditioner every time you wash your hair, you will improve the health of your hair and prevent further damage. Conditioner will also restore the natural shine to your hair; just make sure to thoroughly coat the ends!

Use a Hot Oil Treatment

To add additional moisture and elasticity to your hair, use a hot oil treatment twice a month.

Use a Heat Protecting Product Before Styling

The reason for this might seem obvious, but you wouldn’t image the damage we have seen from hot tools!

Use Ceramic Combs or Irons to Press Hair

If you choose to press or straighten your hair, use a ceramic tool in order to prevent severe damage. Beware that if you use these tools more than once a week you will see damage to your hair.

Use Caution with Relaxers

To minimize hair damage, always go to a professional to ensure that the relaxer is applied safely. Never apply relaxer to hair that has already been relaxed.
